Benefits of Green Cleaning with Microfiber

  • Enhances cleaning power : Microfiber cleans more effectively, reaching into surface pores and crevices, where cotton cloths too large for deep cleaning.
  • High absorbency means less water usage : Microfiber fibers absorb seven times their weight in water. Also less need for multiple cloths to use and wash after cleaning up spills.
  • Fast drying : The fabric dries in one-third the time of traditional cotton cloths.
  • Can be laundered and reused : Microfiber can be laundered and reused 400-500 times.
  • Enhances cleaning productivityTraditional cleaning rags can’t pick up every bit of dirt and often leave behind residues. Microfiber, on the other hand, traps dirt and liquid in its plush and dense fibers, leaving behind a completely clean surface.
  • Improved safety : Better water absorbency means it does not leave as much moisture and residue as regular cloth - cleaning floors would be easier since they dry faster and thus can prevent slips and falls.

Caring for Microfiber Towels

If possible, use a small amount of liquid rather than powder detergent so that fewer residues attach to the absorbent microfibers. There is no need to use bleach, fabric softeners or very hot water, and doing so may reduce the effectiveness and life of your microfiber cloth.

Avoid acids. Check any chemical product before using it on your microfiber towels — if it can hurt plastics, it will likely hurt your microfiber.

If your towels start to smell or not work as well as they should, try boiling them in water with one-fourth cup of baking soda for 10 to 15 minutes. Be sure to let them dry completely before folding and storing them.
